3 years hard graft 🥊

As some of you may know, my little boy Paddy has been going to @stamford_abc since he was 4.

I’m not gonna lie… when he started, it was mainly to build his confidence. He was shy, struggled with his speech, kept himself to himself… and his coordination was very much giving… me 😆

Fast forward 3 years and wow. He’s confident, he’s loud (very loud 😂), and he’s absolutely smashing it - literally.

Of course, his Da Pádraic has been a huge part of that journey, but none of this would be possible without Mark and all the lads at Stamford ABC. The time, patience and encouragement they give him is just unreal. I honestly can’t recommend them enough.

And if I’m honest… I’d choose him being in that club every single time over sitting at home on a screen or causing chaos. He’s learning discipline, resilience and confidence - things that will stay with him for life.

A reminder that nothing in life comes easy. When you start something, it might feel messy, you might even be cr*p at it, but… just like my boy, if you stick at it, one day, you’ll look back and realise… that’s how champions are made 🥊✨

Turns out the notebook wasn’t the problem.

Running a business means your brain is constantly buzzing with ideas, plans and things you want to try.

The trick isn’t being perfectly organised. It’s finding a system that helps you capture those ideas and turn them into action.

Every Monday I’m like right… this is it. This is the organised, strategic, content batching week.

And then life happens. 🫠

Clients need things, meetings pop up, new ideas appear and suddenly the week is gone and the batch never happened.

But here’s the truth. Content doesn’t need to be perfectly planned to work.

What matters most is that you keep showing up. Even if it’s one reel, one post or one story at a time.

Because momentum always beats perfection.

If batching content always sounds like a great idea but never quite happens, you’re definitely not the only one.🫶🏼

Honestly my saved folder is a masterpiece. 🤭

Trending audios, clever hooks, brilliant ideas.

And yet somehow… none of them get filmed.

Because ideas are the easy part. Execution is where most people get stuck.

We wait until we look better, sound better, feel more confident or have the “perfect” moment to film.

Meanwhile the accounts that grow aren’t the ones with the most ideas. They’re the ones who actually press record.

Messy action beats perfect planning every time.

If your saved folder is full but your drafts are empty, this is your sign to film the thing. ✨

I go in with a plan. “Right, quick post and I’m out.”

Three minutes later I’ve watched a candle making tutorial, saved a reel about outfits I’ll never wear and somehow ended up deep in dog videos.

Then I remember… oh yeah. I came here to post something.

Social media is literally designed to distract you like this, which is why having a plan matters so much. When you know what you’re posting and why, you spend less time scrolling and more time actually showing up.

Because the goal isn’t to consume content all day. It’s to create it.

If you’ve ever opened Instagram to post and ended up down a scroll hole instead, welcome to the club. 🤭

This is the reel 🤭

You know the feeling. You post something and immediately think “this is the one”. The reel that’s going to explode, bring in clients and solve every problem in one go.

We’ve all been there.

But the truth is growth rarely comes from one viral moment. It comes from momentum. From showing up consistently, refining your message and building trust over time.

The good news? You don’t need to go viral to build a successful business online.

You just need to keep showing up.

If you’ve been putting pressure on one post to change everything, take a breath and keep going. Consistency always wins. 🫶🏼

Once the idea is in my head I physically cannot ignore it.

But honestly… this is also why trends work.

Because social media moves quickly.

The people who grow are usually the ones who see an idea and actually act on it instead of overthinking it for two weeks.

Execution beats perfection every time.

Three hours later I’ve either done nothing at all or I’ve somehow analysed ten accounts, saved twelve reel ideas and written a content strategy in my head.

The truth is social media is designed to pull you in.

Which is exactly why business owners need a strategy.

Because when you have a plan, you stop scrolling aimlessly and start showing up intentionally.

And that’s when social media starts working for you.

My toxic trait is thinking I can film “one quick reel”.

You know the drill…

“I’ll just quickly film this.”

Twenty seven takes later, the lighting’s changed, your tea is cold and somehow the reel is now an entire production.

But honestly this is why so many people avoid creating content.

They think it has to be perfect.

The best performing content is usually the messy, honest, slightly chaotic stuff.

So film the reel. Post the reel. And stop overthinking it.
